On Wednesday, July 3, 2025 at 2159 hrs. I, Sgt. M. Ivey, was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Grand St. in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arrival at 2203 hrs. I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that Eric Poole come to her residence at [300 BLOCK] Grand St. intoxicated and wanting money that [VICTIM #1] owed him. [VICTIM #1] stated that advised Poole she did not have the money at the moment and he became agitated. [VICTIM #1] stated that Poole was yelling and causing a disturbance. [VICTIM #1] stated she went back inside her residence and once she was inside Poole started moving several potted plants off of [VICTIM #1]’s porch and placed them in the middle of the road, obstructing the roadway.
I then patrolled the area and searched for Poole. I made contact with Poole on Floyd St. close to the Grand St. intersection. Poole was obviously intoxicated and I could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages on his person. Poole stated that he did not move the plants. While speaking to him, Poole stated, “Just put me in the car about the plants.” Poole was then detained and placed in the back of my patrol car. I then made contact with [VICTIM #1] again, who stated that Poole was the only one outside her residence at the time the plants were moved. While investigating the incident I determined that Poole has an active warrant out of Sumpter County. I contacted dispatch to verify the warrant and find out if Sumpter County wanting to place a hold. Sumpter County advised they wanted to place a hold on Poole. Poole was also trespassed from [VICTIM #1]’s property. Poole was served with a citation for disorderly conduct and a Criminal Trespass Notice. I then escorted Poole to Washington County LEC where he was turned over to the on-duty jail staff. I then returned to service.
