On August 10, 2025 at approximately 0008hrs., I Deputy J. Maynard was dispatched to [400 BLOCK] E. 2nd Ave. in reference to a disturbance with an intoxicated individual.
Upon arrival I made contact with Mr. [VICTIM #1] who had just sat in a vehicle. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that his daughter, Ms. [WITNESS #1] is in a relationship with Mr. Preston Elton. Mr. [VICTIM #1] said that his daughter called a relative but did not say anything but the relative could hear a lot of fussing and yelling in the background so he left his home on Matthews Rd to go check on his daughter. Mr. [VICTIM #1] said that as he was speaking to Mr. P. Elton, who was also intoxicated, he said Mr. P. Elton started hitting him. I did notice some bleeding from Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s forehead area.
I then spoke with Mr. [WITNESS #2], who is the father of Mr. Preston Elton. Mr. [WITNESS #2] said that Preston had began drinking tonight and turned violent. Mr. [WITNESS #2] said that Preston started yelling and cursing at him and Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Mr. [WITNESS #2] said that he does not know exactly what transpired between Preston and [VICTIM #1] but knew that they started to scuffle outside. I also spoke to two of Preston’s friends and they stated that Preston was heated and did argue with his father [WITNESS #2] and his girlfriend [WITNESS #1]. They both stated that as [VICTIM #1] pulled up to check on his daughter that [VICTIM #1] was a little verbally aggressive to Preston and at one time even called Preston a “b*tch”. They also stated that Preston basically “warned” [VICTIM #1] and told him he should just get on and then Preston started fighting with [VICTIM #1].
The decision was made to arrest Preston for Disorderly Conduct under the City of Tennille ordinance due to the fact of his inebriated state is the primary cause of all the drama and fighting. I then instructed Mr. Preston to place his hands behind his back, I handcuffed him in the rear, checked them for fit and double locked the handcuffs. Mr. Preston was then given to Lt. Perdue who transported him to the Washington County Jail and cited for Disorderly Conduct through the City of Tennille on citation number475000016.
