On June 7, 2025 at approximately 1023 hours, I Deputy First Class Scott Camp #516 employed with Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office and assigned to Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched back out to [3300 BLOCK] Whitepath Road. Dispatched advised Gary Reeves call 911 and stated [REDACTED]’s two friends or criminally trespassing on his property again. I responded non-emergency.
I arrived on scene at approximately 1024 hours and met with Gary. Gary stated “they are down by the creek” and pointed to the back right side of his back yard. I walked down to the area where Gary had pointed to. I didn’t see anyone or hear anyone. There was thick mud near the creek and I did not observe any footprints other than deer prints.
I then walked the creek bed to the back left side of the property. I didn’t see or hear anyone and I didn’t see any footprints in the mud. I walked back up to the residence and met with Gary. I told Gary I did not see anyone nor hear anyone. I also told Gary I know he seen someone, but I’m not seeing them. I told Gary there were no footprints in the mud either.
I advised Gary to go inside and rest since he had been up since 0230 this morning. I then left the residence at approximately 1038 hours.
At approximately 1044 hours, I was dispatched back out to [3300 BLOCK] Whitepath Road. Dispatch advised me Gary called 9-1-1 and stated his neighbors were in his yard yelling at him. I responded non-emergency. I arrived back at the residence at approximately 1049 hours. I met with Gary. Gary stated his neighbors across the street were on his property yelling at him.
I looked across the street and there were no vehicles in the driveway and no one was outside. I also didn’t observe anyone on Gary’s property. I then asked Gary to secure his two dogs inside the residence which he did. I then told Gary to turn around and place his hands behind his back. Gary complied. I handcuffed Gary behind his back. I checked the handcuffs for proper fit and then double locked them.
I told Gary he was under arrest for misuse of 9-1-1 and making a false report of a crime. I asked Gary to walk up to my patrol vehicle. Once at my patrol vehicle, I searched Gary and placed the contents of his pockets on the hood of my patrol vehicle.
I then placed Gary in the backseat of my patrol vehicle and secured him with the seatbelt. I then placed Gary’s belongings in a paper evidence bag. I then transported Gary to Gilmer County Detention Center. I gave dispatch my beginning and ending mileage.
I arrived at the detention center and turned Gary over to the detention staff. I turned Gary’s belongings over to the detention staff to be stored. I completed a pre-booking form. I then conducted a contraband search of the back seat of my patrol unit. Nothing was found during the search.
I then applied for and received two arrest warrants being: warrant number 25-539MW – OCGA 16-11-39.2 – unlawful conduct during a 911 call and warrant number 25-540MW – OCGA 16-10-26 – false report of a crime.
