On July 7, 2025 I, Deputy Rebecca Scott #555 working for Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to [20 BLOCK] Sunrise Hollow Court in reference to a male subject in the driveway yelling at him about money for the road. I responded Code two, lights and sirens through traffic, along with Cpl. White #530 and Dep. Healy #541.
When I arrived to the residence the complaintant, Mr. [VICTIM #1], met us at the end of his driveway. He stated his neighbor, Mr. Alejandro Guzman, came to his residence, pulled into his driveway, and began yelling at him about money for the road. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was waving his hands telling him not to pull into his driveway due to his dogs being outside with him. Mr. Guzman got out of his van arguing about Mr. [VICTIM #1] driving a white truck down the road recklessly, doing burn outs and flinging rocks. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated he rarely drives that white truck and he does not go fast down the road due to the poor condition. He stated Mr. Guzman had a beer in his hand and seemed drunk, he repeatedly told him to leave. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated to Mr. Guzman he better leave, he was going inside to get his gun. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated to me that he felt Mr. Guzman getting more agressive with his tone and he was worried he was going to try to engage him; he did not know if he had weapons on him as well. When he came back outside he walked behind a tree near his driveway and just watched Mr. Guzman, while on the phone with Gilmer dispatch. After a few mintues, Mr. Guzman backed out and left the residence.
While we spoke to Mr. [VICTIM #1] we noticed a male subject sitting at the end of the road by the stop sign. Walking closer to the male subejct I told Cpl. White that I reconginzed him as Mr. Guzman, we dealt with him on a case last year. As we spoke with Mr. Guzman we could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Mr. Guzman stated that he came to the residence the first time to see if Mr. [VICTIM #1] would contribute to the fresh gravel he laid on the road. Then he went into the discussion about his white truck flinging rocks at his van. He mentioned that Mr. [VICTIM #1] was recording him while he was in his driveway. After he was done telling me his side of the story I went back to Mr. [VICTIM #1] to see if there was a video on his cell phone. Mr. [VICTIM #1] showed me a video of Mr. Guzman arguing with him about the road and his white truck, in the video you could hear Mr. [VICTIM #1] asking him to leave his driveway. He also had a picture of Mr. Guzman sitting in his van with holding a beer can.
Due to Mr. Guzman going to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s residence and starting a fight while drinking, leaving, then returning and sitting at the end of the road I arrested Mr. Guzman for Disorderly Conduct County Ordinance Sec. 31-1. I also issued Mr. Guzman a Criminal Trespass Warning to not come to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s reisdence again.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] was given a victim’s pamphlet with a case number for his records.
