On 08/30/2025 at approximately 22:56, I was dispatched to [50 BLOCK] Sunflower Ct in reference to a verbal domestic between a male and female. I responded code 1 (no lights or sirens active). When I arrived to the residence with Cpl. R. Sawyer #546 and DFC J. Ledford #544, I observed 2 white males retreat into the residence.
I approched the front door and knocked on the door in an attempt to make contact with the residents, there was no answer. I could hear loud movement inside the residence. I knocked on the door and could hear a male scream at us from inside the residence telling us to leave. Myself and Cpl. Sawyer attempted to explain to the male that we were called to the residence in reference to a domestic issue and wanted to make sure everyone was okay.
The male subject continued to scream at us to leave and stated, “If you attempt to enter the residence, you will be met with force.” We attempted to reason with the male, but he would only scream and respond to us with threats of force. Dispatch advised that his lawyer was on the line and wanted to speak to law enforcement. I advised dispatch to transfer him to my personal cell phone.
When I recieved the call, I spoke with [REDACTED], who stated that his client, Christopher Martin, was highly elevated and was not sure of the situation. I explained to [REDACTED] why we were there and that we needed to make contact with the female caller to make sure she was okay. [REDACTED] told me he will speak to Christopher and see if someone will come talk to us. A female subject exited the residence with a newborn child, approximately 4 weeks of age.
We spoke to the female, identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who was visibly crying and upset as if something had happened. We explained to her the reason we were there and asked if she was okay, she stated she was. We asked if she was hurt, she stated no. We asked for her name and date of birth, and she provided her date of birth, but refused to provide her name. I asked if a vehicle which was parked near us was her vehicle, she stated yes. I asked if it was registered to her specifically, she stated yes. I then had dispatch run the vehicle tag and then run driver’s license attched to the registration to identify [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then returned to the residence.
We were then leaving the residence to standby per Lt. G. Hefner #510, I was backing out of the driveway approximatey 30 yards from the residence when I heard a gunshot in close proximity come from the direction of the residence. We stood by at the end of the driveway of the residence and took cover behind patrol cars.
Lt. Hefner and Sgt. D. Ridings #539 arrived on scene. Lt. Hefner had dispatch make contact with [REDACTED] to speak to Christopher and have him meet us at our location unarmed. Shortly after, Christopher came to our location walking down the driveway and was placed under arrest in violation of OCGA 16-10-24(b) Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officer when he willingly and knowingly opposed law enforcement in their lawful duties by stating that law enforcement would be met with force if they made an attempt to enter the residence. Christopher was then escorted to DFC C. Jump’s #545 patrol vehicle #524.
I then contacted DFACs to make a refferal due to the safety of the childern inside the residence. I then stood by until DFACs arrived. When DFACs arrived we stood by until the scene was secured. Once secured, I escorted DFACs to the residence so they could make contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I stood by until DFACS was finished.
DFACs report completed.
